The Scripture Academy exists to help everyday believers study Scripture with confidence. We believe the Bible is worth studying deeply. We also believe that serious biblical and theological study isn’t reserved for pastors, professors, or scholars. Our goal is to demystify Bible study and theology by bringing the depth of the classroom into the everyday life of the believer.
Through accessible resources, thoughtful teaching, and practical tools, we want to equip you to slow down, ask better questions, think carefully, and engage God’s Word for yourself. We don’t want to simply give you answers… we want to teach you how to study. Ultimately, the goal isn’t just to know more about the Bible. It’s to know Jesus more deeply, be formed by his Word, and faithfully live what we learn.

Dr. Petey Bingham
Dr. Petey Bingham is the founder of The Scripture Academy, a ministry created to help everyday believers study Scripture with confidence. He is a pastor, professor, and scholar with a passion for making biblical and theological study accessible without sacrificing depth.
Petey has spent years teaching Scripture in the local church and helping people move beyond simply reading the Bible to studying, understanding, and faithfully applying it. His approach combines careful biblical study with a deep conviction that knowing Scripture should ultimately lead us to know and follow Jesus more closely.
Through The Scripture Academy, Petey creates resources designed to demystify Bible study and theology, equip believers to ask better questions, and give them the tools and confidence to engage God’s Word for themselves. He believes serious study of Scripture is not reserved for pastors, professors, or scholars. It is a privilege available to every believer.
Petey lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife, Farra, and their two children, Quinn and Nixon. When he isn’t teaching, studying, or surrounded by books, he enjoys spending time with his family, following just about every sport imaginable, and training for endurance sport.
